Sabrina Elba shares her holiday makeup look

Sabrina Elba is on fire. She's just launched a skincare line, S’able Labs, with husband Idris which is already winning over beauty editors and that's on top of the power couple's fiercely popular podcast, Coupledom, proving, perhaps, that business and pleasure really can mix well.

S’able Labs launches with three hero products - a cleanser, toner and moisturiser - and is focused on showcasing A-beauty, championing natural ingredients native to Africa. “It's genderless skincare, vegan, cruelty-free and made for all skin types, addressing issues like hyperpigmentation," Sabrina explains.

Naturally her skincare routine involves the entire S’able Labs line up, but if you've ever wondered which makeup products she uses to create her off-duty look, you're in luck. In the video above, the model and actress has broken down her go-to everyday makeup routine that she fondly dubs her "don't know how I woke up like this kind of look."

Hint: it's firmly focused on glowy, dewy, yet natural looking skin, with her brushed up, fluffy brows taking centre stage.

Here's every single product in Sabrina Elba's skincare and makeup routine.

First up, skin prep obviously. Sabrina likes to thoroughly cleanse her face with the S’able Labs Qasil Cleanser, a gentle exfoliating cream cleanser, which contains qasil (a natural active native to Somalia) and purifying kaolin clay, oat amino acids, shea butter, rice milk and squalane to deeply hydrate, chamomile to soothe and aloe vera powder to soften.

Next up, Sabrina likes to mist her face all over with the S’able Black Seed Toner. “Our toner’s got black seed in it, it's a great anti inflammatory," she says, adding that it leaves her skin feeling refreshed. "I never used to use toners before I developed one, I'm not gonna use a toner if it's just gonna be like a pH-balancing rose water. I wanted to actually do stuff. So our whole thing with maximising formulas, or having minimum impact on the planet, is the way to go."

When GTG's beauty director Ingeborg Van Lotringen tested the entire S’able Labs range this was her favourite product. "The Black Seed Toner doubles as a weightless, liquid serum. It has no exfoliating acids but vitamin C and ferulic acid (which is a powerful antioxidant) instead; the two are a lauded and proven radiance-boosting team. There’s lots of other antioxidant and soothing plant extracts in there as well to protect your skin, and you can simply mist it on after cleansing. One caveat: it doesn’t tell you to avoid your eyes but I would; these actives may be a little too much for your eye area.”

Sabrina follows the toner with the S’able Baobab Moisturiser, which contains mild licorice root and brightening tranexamic acid. "Baobab is another super antioxidant. Because I suffer a lot from hyperpigmentation, I wanted to create a moisturiser that addresses a lot of melanin production but can also be used for every skin type, because everyone suffers from it - even if you don't notice it."

She'll layer this with the Cay Skin Universal Mineral Face Lotion SPF 55 from Winnie Harlow's skincare line. “ My girl Winnie made a beautiful sunscreen for the face that doesn't have any chalky residue - that's my thing with sunscreen. I really rub that in my t-zone because I’m scared of the sun, we should all be!"

Sabrina likes to kick off her makeup routine with her eyebrows. “I don't care if I'm running to a grocery store, I need to have my eyebrows! I've got lash extensions, so I save a bunch of time on eyes and I can afford to use some of that on my brows," she says. "I start my eyebrows first because I do find putting this on after you've got foundation on your face can kind of mess up your flow a bit."

She uses three brow products to achieve her fluffed up look, kicking off with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze, using the flat bit of a spoolie to brush up her brows and get that “laminated look.”

“I feel like a different person when I do my brows. Eyebrows are a proportion thing for me, I feel like the bigger my eyebrows are, the more in proportion my face is. I used to get my eyebrows laminated a lot but I found that I was doing it way too much and damaging them so this was a really great in between for me and now I only laminate them for like a bigger event.”

To fill in the gaps, she goes in with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Pen, £23, in Chocolate, which says blends in her look nicely. Finally, she finishes with a slick of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel, £19.99 to help brush them up.

Now it's on to her dewy base, for which she uses the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Perfect Glow foundation in shade 9. “When I'm on holiday I tend to go in with a dry beauty blender (Beautyblender Original, £13) to soak up more of the product because it's so humid outside," she says. "I don't like a heavy makeup look when I'm on holiday so I try to keep the foundation quite light and airy."

She'll touch up her undereye are with the Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Concealer in M18. "Where I do want a little bit more coverage  is always my under eyes. I love this concealer." Then she'll go in again with her beauty blender to buff it out.

Sabrina likes to contour but keeps it subtle, using the KKW Contour Stick (which sadly is not currently available online) to apply a light amount of contouring to her nose.

Her go-to bronzer is Charlotte Tilbury's Airbrush Flawless Bronzer in 3 Tan, and she likes to use the big fluffy Charlotte Tilbury Bronzing Brush, £35 to give herself what she describes as a "bronzer helmet," around her forehead and hairline and contours the cheeks.

To finish her off-duty look, she uses the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Pillow Talk lipliner in 3 Intense to give definition around her pout, paying particular attention to the contours which adds volume and definition.

Her secret it to layer this with the Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil in Peach Glow. “It's literally my favourite thing because I just want this natural pink luscious [pout]."

Finally, she spritzes herself with Maison Francis Kurkdjian's A la rose eau de parfum, a romantic, floral scent which contains Damascena rose from Bulgaria, and notes of bergamot, orange and magnolia blossom, with cedar wood and musk base notes. Et voilà!
